I’m a mystic artist and novelist. I paint and write what exists beyond the veil, and the wildness we’re trained to hide.

I started out as a journalist in newsrooms in Tokyo, London, and Seattle, including the Financial Times, telling other people’s stories.

 

Then, in a London newsroom, something opened. I realized that a creative voice can bring real change into the world, and I set out to find mine.

I spent decades studying tarot, shamanism, Reiki, and past-life regression with master mystics. I also studied with major women artists in Seattle, Boston, and London. That’s how I learned to bring the mystical and the gritty together in my paintings, mixed media, and sculpture. Before I paint, I journey. My series include Mystic Equine, Bruised Goddess, Dissolve, and Mystic Circus Tarot. I call what I make feral mysticism.

My novels follow the same thread. The five books of my Elemental Journey series follow one woman as she claims the mystic she has always been. My middle grade novel BLUE: When Hiding Isn’t Safe Anymore was published in 2025 by Our Street Books in London. I’m now writing its Young Adult sequel, RED, about a feral horse and a teenage girl who has lost her wildness.

I see my work as part of a Sacred Art Movement, in the company of mystic outsiders like Hildegard of Bingen and Hilma af Klint. I’ve also been a book coach for nearly thirty years, helping writers cross the threshold of their own becoming.

I live and work in a yurt studio on 80 forested acres near Estacada, Oregon. In 2027 I’ll paint The Little Animals of St. Francis at a residency in Assisi, Italy.
